Antique Toys,Antique Victorian hobby horse, this wooden children's "hobby horse" is American and retains its original paint. Hobby Horses where used by Children in the Victorian era. This Hobby Horse or rocking horse is in as found original condition. The seat has a tear and some of the stuffing is missing, the leather ears are missing but other than that it is original including the cast iron horse shoes. The base has stenciling over the red paint. There is a star design on the base brackets. Mid to late 19th century. The over all measurements are 36 and one quarter inches to the top of the horses head, 46 inches long. The horse is 7 and one half inches wide and the base is 12 and one half inches wide.

This antique chess or checkerboard measures 17 and seven eighths by 21 and one half by 1 inches wide and retains its original black and white paint. This game board is made from a single wide pine board. The condition of the paint is quite good with some loss. There is one small thin piece missing on on of the checkers holders.

RARE 19th century brass childs rocking horse c1880. This wonderful brass horse has no foundry mark, but the former owner believed it to be French. She was an elderly lady who had played with it as a child in the 1930's. It had been passed down to her through her family. It measures 48 inches long by 36 inches high by 10 inches wide. It is very strong and extremely well cast. We have never seen another one like it.
